Do the Work | James 5
Echo Church,
Thank you so much to those near and far that are joining us here for the final week in our series through James: Do The Work. I’m so excited today as we turn our focus to James 5 and dig in with our friend Chris Cox. If you’re in a backyard or on Zoom at 11, we’ll also spend some time in reflection and prayer together. If you or your house is flying solo, please do spend some time doing the same from wherever, whenever you are.
After service, please take some time to scroll down and review some important announcements about this coming week: a prayer meet-up on Tuesday, and NO backyards next week (digital meet-up). Details are all under announcements section! Of course, if you’re extra-cool, you already knew all this because you’re subscribed to our email newsletter.

REFLECTION
Where is your favorite place to go (before covid restrictions!) to feel at peace and reflect?
• First think locally and where you can go more frequently.
• Then consider where in the world have you felt the most peaceful and thoughtful, anyplace you’ve ever visited
Considering James 5, is it easier for you to go to God in praise during happy times or in need during times of struggle?
Do you feel safe going to God right now?
Are there other people in your life who help you by praying for you and with you?
PRAYER
Spend some time praying for one another, whoever is with you right now.
If you can, join the Echo family on Tuesday, September 1 at 7pm on the steps of the church to pray together.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
ONLINE GATHERING TODAY
If you aren’t able to physically join us in a back yard this morning, consider meeting up with the Hamilton back yard at 11:00am via Zoom.
NO IN-PERSON GATHERINGS NEXT WEEK
Sunday September 6, rather than gathering in different yards, we will host an all-church Zoom gathering to see everyone all at once. .
THIS TUESDAY - LET’S GET TOGETHER
SEPT 1ST, 7:00PM
This Sunday our final message from the book of James calls us to pray. We'll consider how safe we truly feel with God and how we can rely on one another. We don't just want to talk about prayer—we want to actually pray. If you feel comfortable joining an outdoor gathering, will you please come pray with us?
We'll meet on the steps of the church. Doors will be open for available restrooms. You don't have to pray aloud! Just join us as we go to God to seek His strength and guidance for our church, our city, our country, our world.
WAYS TO GIVE

ECHO KIDS
PRAYERS & CHEERS
As we discuss the importance of prayer this morning, I thought it would be a great time to announce a new part of our Echo Kids ministry being launched this coming month: Prayers & Cheers.
Every kid could use a little more encouragement and prayer in their life. We wanted to find a way to offer more of that to the children we love so much at our church.
Prayers & Cheers will allow the opportunity for children one year old through sixth grade to be paired with a volunteer who will commit to praying for and encouraging that particular child on a regular basis.
Parents who would like their child to be involved, please take a few minutes to fill out this form to help your child's Prayers & Cheers buddy learn about specific ways they can cheer on your child throughout the year. You will also receive the contact information of your child's buddy in the event you'd like to reach out to them with prayer needs.
PARENTS OF TEENS: Stay tuned over the next couple weeks as a plan is finalized for our older kids to stay connected through prayer, fellowship and encouragement as well!
